Pickup or delivery in Milton: which makes more sense?
Hot take from a guy who's been answering this question every night for 23 years: pickup wins more often than people think. Here's the math, the deal-by-deal breakdown, and the one situation where delivery is always worth it.
Most Milton families default to delivery, then complain that the bill jumped $7. Here's what we've learned about when each one is the right call.
The pickup case
- Large Pep & Cheese — $10.99 (pickup only)
- Solo Saver — $19.99 (1 medium + 6 wings + dip + can of pop, pickup or delivery)
- Lunch Special — $12.99 (1 medium 2-topping pizza + 1 can pop, 11AM–3PM)
Pickup at our Martin Street location takes 10–15 min from order. Free parking out front. If you're already on the road or within a 5-min drive, the math is brutal: pickup saves $5 delivery + $2-3 tip = $7-8, every time.
The delivery case
- Family Feast — $68.99 (2 X-Large pizzas + 24 wings + cheesy bread + 2L pop) — the cost of delivery is 8% of the bill, basically rounding
- Late-night orders — 9:30 PM with kids in bed, you're not driving
- Catering trays — too much to carry yourself, especially in winter
Delivery makes sense when (a) the order is $50+, (b) you physically can't get to us, or (c) it's late and the saved 30 min matters more than the $7.
Pro tip: schedule, don't ASAP
Schedule-for-later is free and makes both options better. Order at 11 AM during your lunch break for a 6:30 PM dinner. Pizza arrives the moment you walk in the door. No "is it almost here" texts.
